As in other works from the same period, the application of the collage on a wooden panel covered in canvas was a technique used at the time to give the work greater value or weight. Today, besides appearing obsolete, this type of installation is a problem, in that it creates ambiguity as to the status of the work, which is understood to be a “painting”. The artist suggests removing the collage from the canvas, then placing it on a rigid support (cardboard) and framing it in a plexiglas case (with enough leeway for about 7 cm around each side).
