Belfast (Synecdoche)
Photo emulsion on canvas
Ø 100 cm
Private collection
The photographic canvas reproduces a view of a crowded Florida Street in Buenos Aires, dominated by an advertising poster for “Belfast” clothing.
A pendant of Buenos Aires (sineddoche) (GPO-0088), the work depicts a blown-up detail of the city recalled by synecdoche in that work, while at the same time, via the name in the advertising, it recalls by synecdoche the name of the capital of Northern Ireland.
