“I See” (15 July 1969)
Paper fragments mounted between two plexiglas sheets
20 x 25 cm
Present whereabouts unknown
The work is made up of two plexiglas sheets – placed on a horizontal plane – that hold down some of the fragments of the sheets on which the artist, for the first time ever, on 15 July 1969, “deciphered” his visual field (cf. GPO-0188), in addition to fragments of autograph writing concerning that same work and the torn fragments of an envelope from the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome.1
1 The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna was asked to curate Italy's role in the 1969 “Biennale de Paris”, where Paolini presented Vedo (la decifrazione del mio campo visivo) in its original version on sheets of paper (cf. GPO-0188).
