Twelve sheets of drawing paper folded into four parts and assembled to create an unbound book are signed and dated by the artist from 1960 to 1971. On the last sheet, the inscription “Giulio Paolini / 1971” corresponds to both the signature of another work from 1971 and the authentication of the work itself.
An indistinct reference to other works, Giulio Paolini announces the idea of an anthological or retrospective work developed between 1971 and 1972, the goal being to evoke other works (his own or by other artists) as the equivalent formulations of a same dimension and conceptual intention.
