Il nome proprio, 1986

An empty golden frame and the reversed poster of the solo exhibition in Stuttgart, with a cut-out corresponding to the blank rectangle on the recto of which is the artist's name, announce a subject that is not declared: on the lower edge of the frame, the cut-out part with the name is crumpled and remains an undecipherable presence.
The work foreshadows a more in-depth formulation of the same theme realized soon afterwards in that same year (cf. Il nome proprio, 1986, GPO-0574).
