Dismantled work
On the occasion of the solo show at Villa delle Rose in Bologna in 1990, Paolini reformulated a new version of the situation constituting the print edition entitled Hotel Continental (Le Monde invisible), made in 1973 (GPE-0011). In this case, the colour reproduction of René Magritte's painting Le Monde invisible (1954) is arranged on the ground under a large plexiglas sheet and is half-hidden by a crumpled and undecipherable photographic enlargement, crushed by the weight of a fallen chair in the area corresponding to the stone portrayed in the painting by Magritte.
