In an alternating sequence of black-and-white rectangles contained inside one another, following one another from the outside are an incomplete rectangle evoked by the pencil lines on blank sheets scattered on the wall, a frame with a black passepartout, and a frame with a photograph of the artist holding an open book before him. The central part of the image is cut out to allow the viewer to glimpse a rectangle drawn on a sheet of paper on the wall, so that it looks as though it were held by the cut-out hand.
The title certifies the “authenticity” of the drawing (outlined on the wall) inside the “illusory” score where it is located.
