Collection of the artist

A Genesa made of copper holds the plaster cast of a child’s arm, aimed towards the middle, so that its hand appears to stop an hourglass turned horizontally, containing green sand. The assemblage is arranged atop a plexiglas round recalling Genesa’s game of spheres.
The gesture of the hand alludes to the desire to stop time (the sand in the horizontal hourglass has stopped flowing), or, as the title and youthful cast suggest, the "green years" of life. A suspension of time that harkens back to the eternity of Art, an ideality evoked symbolically by the Genesa, a model of perfect geometry.
The theme of this work can be found on multiple occasions in Paolini’s latest works: see in particular
Fuori tempo, 2020 (GPO-1092), Hic et nunc, 2021 (GPO-1119), and Fermare il tempo, 2023 (GPO-1166).
