Gift of Yvon Lambert to the French State, 2012, inventory no. FNAC 2013-0333
The drawing carved in the glass door of the entrance hall of the Hôtel de Caumont in Avignon, the seat of the Collection Lambert, depicts a room viewed in perspective with a painting gallery arranged on the rear wall. Standing out in the foreground is a more clearly marked square, originally meant to contain a logo or some words.
The drawing announces the museum’s exhibition space that appears to the public as it crosses the threshold and goes inside.
