Two canvases of the exact same size, joined recto against recto, allude to a "hidden" painting, evoked via the drops of paint along the edges of the canvases and several traces of colour visible on the front stretcher.
The same title (at times followed by a different date) marks a series of eleven works made between 1973 and 1974 (GPO-0258, GPO-0259, GPO-0260, GPO-0262, GPO-0263, from GPO-0267 to GPO-0270, GPO-0273, GPO-0274), each of which cites an anthology of one or more other works, or simply evokes, as in this case case, a hypothetical painting.
