Collage on photo print
Twelve framed parts 50.5 x 70.5 cm each, overall dimensions variable
FER Collection
The twelve elements must be lined up in a horizontal row, with relatively wide intervals between them, depending on the length of the wall available.
• 2005, Münster, Westfälisches Landesmuseum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte: on a long wall (19.23 m) the artist the artist placed in between the twelve framed elements, lined up with a sufficient amount of space in between, a wall drawing of rectangles, oriented horizontally or vertically, and arranged in a different way each time. The author used this type of installation only on this occasion.
A photograph of Ebe (1816) by Antonio Canova is doubled in a specular sense twelve times: in the vis-à-vis, the two figures that from one element to another change the appearance of their silhouette exchange an iconographic element. Each time the object of the exchange, placed in the area corresponding to the amphora and cup held by Hebe, comprises details from the same sculpture or reproductions of other subjects, or else various pieces of paper, so as to create a kaleidoscope of apparitions evoking the mirages of an "enchanted castle".
