Entrée des artistes, 1989
GPO-0656
Pencil on paper, frame and metallic plate applied to paper
100 x 70 cm
Signed and dated on the verso, centre: "Giulio Paolini / (novembre 1989)"
Luisa Laureati Briganti Collection, Rome
A golden frame hanging on a wall over a sheet of paper that is just slightly larger, marked in pencil along the diagonals in the four corners and slightly curved, becomes a "door" with a metal plaque and the words in French “Entrée des artistes” on it.
The "artists' entrance" as indicated by the plaque designates in this case the threshold towards the space of the work, suggested by the framing of the frame and the diagonals hinted at on the sheet.
