The plaster casts representing two hands, counterposed to each other and lying on a drawing of planetary orbits, hold a slightly tilted hourglass.
As the title suggests, the gesture of the hands suggests the attempt to stop time, exemplified by the tilted position of the hourglass. The artist's desire to express a point of ideal equilibrium is renewed here: the drawing of the orbits represents an image of completeness in conversation with the hourglass balanced precariously between the hands.
