The plaster cast of a male hand closed into a fist and a mother-of-pearl shell, arranged at the centre of a reflecting sheet, suggest a silent dialogue between two forms that are similarly encased, but different in nature. The cast is the copy par excellence, while the organic shell is original. The juxtaposition between the copy and the original is multiplied by way of the reflecting sheet, which doubles the real objects in the reflected image.
The work continues a theme initiated in 2023, with a first version constituted by the cast of another hand, an ostrich egg, and images of the starry sky that imply a more symbolic connotation (GPO-1162).
