• 1999, Turin, GAM Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea: the eight elements are placed up against other works in the composite assemblage designed at the centre of the exhibition installation on the lower floor.
• 2005, Winterthur, Kunstmuseum and Münster, Westfälisches Landesmuseum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte: the installation of the eight elements, stuck one inside the other so that they interlock in precarious balance, defines the definitive configuration of the work. In Münster the work was exhibited on a beige-brown platform, in analogy with the colour of the floor.
• 2015, Torre Pellice, Studio Tucci Russo: the artist established white to be the definitive colour of the platform.

Description

Eight plexiglas shapes, reproducing the letters that make up the words referred to in the title ("Lo spazio” means “Space”), are arranged one on top of the other so that they interlock in a complex way, which causes the word to implode in an undecipherable tangle.
The work is a variant of the first version made in 1967 (GPO-0120), which, on the contrary, featured the eight letters distributed at an equal distance from each other on the four sides of the room, thus "transcribing" the space in which it found itself to be.
