The work can be installed on a black, white, or plexiglas plinth (90 x 50 x 50 cm), or on a small table or other type of support.
A portrait frame with a black passepartout, set in front of an unlit halogen lamp, frames the colour reproduction of a waiter, pictured against the interior of a Grand Hotel with a glittering crystal. Applied to the glass of the portrait frame are the images of two planets, and in the area corresponding to the tray, is the torn fragment of a celestial subject taken from the crumpled colour reproduction arranged between the portrait frame and the lamp.
The work is part of a series of four variants, made between 1988 and 1995, which are distinguished by the collage on the portrait frame and the intervention associated with the lamp (GPO-0633, GPO-0644, GPO-0650, GPO-0760).
